WAZA-AIR System Program ( Ver.1.30 )
HOW TO TELL THE VERSION
Please check the current version of the system working on your WAZA-AIR before downloading the file.
- While holding down the Up/Down buttons, turn the power switch ON.
The power/battery indicator lights up green.
- When the guitar wireless indicator (white) and Bluetooth indicator (blue) blink rapidly twice, release your finger from the Up/Down buttons.
- Identify the current version by the blinking pattern of the guitar wireless indicator and Bluetooth indicator.
*If it indicates the latest version, no update is necessary.
*Patterns other than those listed in the table below do not indicate the version. Turn off the power switch and start over from step 1.

Additional Functions
- The FS-1-WL wireless foot switch is now supported.
*The functions below are possible when using WAZA-AIR version 1.30 in combination with BOSS TONE STUDIO for WAZA-AIR version 1.2.0 or later.
- The Pedal switch (L, C, R) / CTL1,2 jack on the FS-1-WL can now be used to switch patches and turn effects on and off.
- You can control PEDAL WAH and FOOT VOLUME using the EXP pedal connected to FS-1-WL.
- It is now possible to use the BOSS TONE STUDIO for WAZA-AIR app to set the respective functions of the Pedal switch (L, C, R) / CTL1,2 jack and EXP jack.

Additional Functions
- The EV-1-WL wireless MIDI expression pedal is now supported.
*The functions below are possible when using WAZA-AIR version 1.20 in combination with BOSS TONE STUDIO for WAZA-AIR version 1.1.0 or later.
- You can control PEDAL WAH and FOOT VOLUME using the EV-1-WL pedal.
- The CTL1 and CTL2 jacks on the EV-1-WL can now be used to switch patches, turn effects on and off, and return panning to its default state.
- It is now possible to use the BOSS TONE STUDIO for WAZA-AIR app to set the respective functions of the pedal and of CTL1 and CTL2.
- It is now possible to turn off movement of the sonic image by the gyro sensor.
- It requires the BOSS TONE STUDIO for the WAZA-AIR app.
- It is now possible to fix in place and to replicate the position of the sonic image when POSITION TYPE is set to “STATIC” or “STAGE”.
WHAT YOU NEED FOR UPDATE
- WAZA-AIR
- Micro USB cable (Included with WAZA-AIR)
- Computer (Windows or Mac) equipped with a USB port compliant with USB 2.0/3.0.
PRECAUTIONS
- Never apply this updater to any product other than the WAZA-AIR to avoid destroying data or the system program of other products.
- Never turn off the WAZA-AIR during the update process. If a power failure or other accident occurs while updating, the WAZA-AIR will not be able to start up with normal operating conditions. In this case, contact your nearest Roland Service Center or dealer for repair.
- Inquiries regarding the operating procedures for updating this system program are not supported. We appreciate your understanding.
DOWNLOADING AND UNARCHIVING THE COMPRESSED FILE
- Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the “I agree” check box.
- Click the “Download” button to download the system program (waza_air_sys_v130.zip).
- Unarchive the downloaded file.
- Windows: Right-click the file and select “Extract All,” then click “Extract”.
- macOS: Double-click the file to unzip it.
- “waza_air_sys_v130” folder appears.
*DO NOT rename the files (WAZA-AIR.BIN, ROMINFO.TXT) in the folder.
PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
- Turn the WAZA-AIR power switch OFF.
- Remove the right earpad.
Detach the tiny sponge covers the SERVICE (USB) connector.
*This sponge is held in place by weakly adhesive tape. Pressing down on it with your fingertip to create a gap at the top, insert tweezers or a pen tip and take off.
- Connect SERVICE (USB) connector and a computer with a micro USB cable.
- While pressing the Up/Down buttons, turn the power switch ON.
The power/battery indicator lights up green.
- When the guitar wireless indicator (white) and the Bluetooth indicator (blue) blink rapidly twice, release your finger from the up/down buttons.
The guitar wireless indicator and Bluetooth indicator blink and indicate the current version.
*If it indicates the latest version, no update is necessary.
*Patterns other than those listed in the table below do not allow it to proceed to update mode. Turn off the power switch and start over from step 4.

- Tilt the Bluetooth multi-function button to the + side for more than three seconds.
- The guitar wireless indicator (white) and Bluetooth indicator (blue) light up and the WAZA-AIR drive appears on the computer screen.
- Copy the updater “WAZA-AIR.BIN” and “ROMINFO.TXT” in the “waza_air_sys_v130” folder to the level immediately displayed on accessing the WAZA-AIR drive (the WAZA-AIR drive's root directory).
- After copying is complete, eject the WAZA-AIR drive according to your OS specs or settings.
*For Mac, drag the WAZA-AIR drive to the trash icon.
- Disconnect the micro USB cable from the SERVICE (USB) connector on the WAZA-AIR.
*Be sure to disconnect it from the SERVICE (USB) connector on the WAZA-AIR unit.
The white LED blinks and the blue LED lights up.
- Press the down button (left).
Update begins.
*It takes about 30 seconds to complete the update.
*When the update is complete, the white LED turns solid, and the blue LED turns blinking.
- Turn the power switch OFF.
- Put the sponge back on the SERVICE connector, then attach the ear pad.
