HOW TO TELL THE VERSION
Please check the version of the system working on your Nextone Artist / Nextone Stage before downloading the archive file.
- Turn the POWER switch on while holding down the [ BOOST ] button.
- If the indicators light up as described below, the system is at the latest version.
- The indicator for the [ CLEAN ] button lights in green.
If the indicators light up in a different way than just described, perform an update.
- When you have finished verifying the version, turn off the power.
* Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.

Additional Functions
To change the settings for these functions, use Nextone Editor Ver. 3.0.0 or later.
- BIAS type "SELF" added to POWER AMP
For each POWER AMP setting, BIAS type is selectable between the existing FIXED setting (fixed-bias) and SELF (self-bias).
- SOLO function added
SOLO is switched ON or OFF using GAFC.
SOLO EQ and SOLO LEVEL are settable.
The setting is separately settable for the CLEAN channel and the LEAD channel.
- MIN LEVEL value of "0.2W" added to POWER CONTROL
- Function added for switching effects by operating the unit
DELAY, TREMOLO, and OFF are switchable using the [ DELAY ] button.

Functionality Improvement
- The settings for BOOST, TONE, EFFECT ON/OFF, and the like at powerup now operate in the same state as when the power was previously turned off.
Bug Fixes
The following bugs were fixed.
- When "BOOST-TYPE" is set to [ COMP ], the effect may not occur.
- Sometimes "DELAY" does not work.

Additional Functions
To change the settings for these functions, use Nextone Editor Ver. 2.00 or later.
- Setting "PRE AMP - CH EQ" to independent PRE AMP IN and PRE AMP OUT settings is now possible.
- A GEQ (Graphic Equalizer) has been added to "PRE AMP - CH EQ."
- A total of 7 types of BOOST TYPE settings have been added to "PRE AMP - BOOST."
- For "PRE AMP - EQUALIZER TYPE," the [ TYPE ] selections have been increased to 4 types.
- Setting "EFFECTS" to independent CLEAN and LEAD settings is now possible.
- CHARACTER SHAPE (PEQ) has been added to each "POWER AMP - TUBE TYPE" setting.
- EXTRA HEADROOM has been added to each "POWER AMP - TUBE TYPE" setting.
- A GEQ (Graphic Equalizer) has been added to "SYSTEM EQ."
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE YOUR Nextone Artist / Nextone Stage
- Nextone Artist / Nextone Stage
- USB cable
* The update is carried out with the unit and the computer connected via USB.
Provide a cable suitable for connection to the computer you're using.
- Computer (Windows or Mac) equipped with a USB port compliant with USB 2.0.
CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the Nextone Artist / Nextone Stage. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- Never power-off your Nextone Artist / Nextone Stage while the update is in progress!
f If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the Nextone Artist / Nextone Stage won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
- We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Please open/extract the downloaded "nextone_sys_v300.zip" file on your computer to get the two update files named "ROMINFO.TXT" and "NEXTONE.BIN" in the "nextone_sys_v300" folder.
Please make sure you have unzipped the downloaded update file.
PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Caution
- You must not rename the extracted files.
- Never turn off the Nextone Artist / Nextone Stage's power while the update is in progress. Otherwise the system program or the Nextone Artist / Nextone Stage itself may be destroyed.
Please install the extracted system program files into your Nextone Artist / Nextone Stage according to the following procedure.
- Turn the POWER switch on while holding down the [ TAP ] button.
The indicator for the [ DELAY ] button flash.
* Do not connect the Nextone Artist / Nextone Stage and the computer yet.
- Connect the computer to the Nextone Artist / Nextone Stage's USB port by a USB cable.
The indicator for the [ DELAY ] button stop flashing and stay lighted, and a "NEXTONE" drive appears on the computer screen.
- Open the NEXTONE icon.
"Removable Disk (*:)" may appear instead of the NEXTONE icon.
- Copy (drag and drop) all the files included in the "nextone_sys_v300" folder into the "NEXTONE" icon.
* Do not copy the "nextone_sys_v300" folder.
- Disconnect the NEXTONE from the computer.
With Windows 10 / Windows 8.1 / Windows 7
Right-click on the "NEXTONE" icon in My Computer (or the "Removable Disk (*:)" icon) and execute "Eject."
With macOS / OS X
Drag the "NEXTONE" icon to the Trash icon in the Dock.
- Disconnect the USB cable.
The [ TAP ] button flashes.
- Press [ TAP ] button to start the update process.
While the update is in progress, the indicators for the [ BOOST ] and [ TONE ] buttons flash in changing colors.
- When the update finishes, the "BOOST," "TONE," "CLEAN," "LEAD," and "DELAY" indicators (5 in total) simultaneously flash slowly in green.
- Turn the Nextone Artist / Nextone Stage power off.
This completes the update operation. The new system program runs at the next startup.
Follow the procedure for verifying the version to verify that the version has been updated.
