Los Angeles, CA, January 17, 2018 — BOSS has partnered with Los Angeles-based alternative rock band Dorothy for the 2018 Freedom Tour. BOSS is a brand that realizes the dreams of guitarists and is dedicated to supporting all musicians. In that spirit, they’ve teamed with Dorothy to support the band’s grassroots initiative to select local artists as opening acts.
Dorothy and BOSS are looking for hometown favorites from each city on the band’s tour to be the opening act. All genres are welcome, and selections have already begun to be announced. This will be an opportunity to bring the focus of touring back to developing the local music scene. More information and the band submission form are available at smarturl.it/DorothyFreedomOpener.
Brian Alli, Roland Corporation Vice President of Artist Relations and Business Development, states, “We are excited to partner with Dorothy on this fun, grassroots talent search. We are already impressed with the submissions coming in, and we look forward to seeing these awesome acts live on stage around the country.”
“We are amped to collaborate with BOSS on this important initiative! This is about taking the time to connect with communities and get a real taste of the local music scenes. We want to be inspired and we know BOSS shares that passion,” remarks Dorothy.
Dorothy recently announced tour dates for the 2018 Freedom Tour, taking the high voltage show to major cities across the United States including Chicago, New York, Boston, Nashville, Los Angeles, Austin, and more.
Dorothy will perform new music from their forthcoming album along with fan-favorites from their ROCKISDEAD debut album.
The set list will also include “Naked Eye” from the Served Like A Girl soundtrack, plus the #2 rock song on Amazon, “Down To The Bottom.” Rolling Stone recently featured “Down To The Bottom” in their column ‘The Playlist’ as the “perfect mix of blues thunder and alt-rock guitar crunch.” Watch the live video of “Down To The Bottom” here.
In addition, the band is offering limited VIP tickets that will include a 2-song soundcheck, a photo with Dorothy plus meet & greet, early/preferred entrance, a limited edition hat, and a VIP exclusive laminate.
VIP and GA tickets for the Freedom Tour are available at dorothytheband.com/tour.

About Dorothy
Dorothy was built around Dorothy Martin, a singer who was born in Budapest but raised in San Diego. As a child, she started singing early and eventually made her way to Los Angeles. Her latest EP earned attention from L.A. Weekly and Rolling Stone – the latter named Dorothy one of the best 50 Best New Artists of 2014. All the chatter was enough to earn the attention of Jay-Z’s Roc nation who signed Dorothy in 2015. She recently put together a new, high level, and powerful band including guitarist Nick Maybury, guitarist Leroy Wulfmeier, bassist Eliot Lorango, and drummer Jason Ganberg. Dorothy is managed by We Are Hear and represented by Roc Nation.
