Mending the Mind

Heeyyy all you lovely people!!!

School is back in session so that makes for a very busy time for me.  Getting my youngest son prepared to enter his sophomore year in high school, as well as his second semester of college; getting my middle son off to start his second year in college and getting my oldest son, including his wife and daughter, off to a whole other country….leaves little time for me!!  I am also a full time special educator in a public school district so I’m also back with student, parents and co teachers and all the duties that come with my job.  Now add that to still running my craft business (which you can find at http://www.facebook.com/bossladyblooms  (shameless plug :))), with craft fairs, and vendor events and personal orders; plus I research, write, edit and post this blog.  Whew….that’s plenty!

Though all of that, I have made up my mind to stay positive and look for the good in all situations and in all people.  I’ve learned that where your mind goes, the rest of you follows.  My mind is always full of stuff and a lot of the time, I have so much trouble cutting it off so I can sleep at night. I’m a thinker and have noticed,  that what I think about, be it good or bad, affects the way I feel and  how I behave toward situations and other people.

I’ve decided to train my brain, and to be more conscious of what I think about, especially when my mind starts to wonder off.  Can you honestly think yourself happy? I  believe so! I have started reading on the importance of oxygen to the brain.  I wont go into a long lecture on it but believe me when I tell you oxygen is VERY important to your brain.  If at anytime you start to feel your thoughts veer to the negative side, immediately stop and take some deep breaths, then consciously think of positive thoughts.

Taking care of your mind is key to taking care of yourself.  Remember you are what you think you are!

I am what I think I am, so I choose to be positive. Your thoughts are your seeds you can grow flowers or you can grow weeds.

  2. Yes ! I firmly believe this too. You become the culmination of your thoughts, beliefs and values. Well said. Hmm… I’ll have to check out your FB page too. I love arts and crafts too.
