Most business owners admit that reading, even business related books, is the number 0ne way the wind down from a days work. According to the business owners we spoke with, Atomic Habits by James Clear is high on their list of favorite books. Other books on their list are below:

EXERCISING

According to our list of business owners, exercising is next as a favorite thing to do to practice self care. Getting a full workout, at the gym is number one, followed by jogging and yoga.
Movies and TV

Watching movies and tv is number three on our list of ways business owners practice self care. Binge watching shows, and the latest movies is “a great way to forget about work for a while and relax”, is how one business owner explained number three to us.
SPENDING TIME WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Rounding out at number four, is spending time with family and friends. Although being with family was mentioned in every other number on the list, over all being with friends and family made it on our particular list. Business owners, like the rest of us, are most relaxed with their loved ones.
There you have it. Four ways those who own businesses, practice self care.
Listed are only a few ways, make self care part of your work day by remembering yourself. Things will get busy, and at some point maybe even frustrating, but remember “it’s ok to put yourself first in your own life”, even if you own a business.

Love this! As a small business owner I feel like it gives me permission to unwind. I always feel guilty watching tv but it really does help us all relax a bit! Which in turn makes us more productive.

These are really great tips. As a Full-Time student, a single mom and a blogger, I can relate to this. My self-care routine has changed but it has helped me through it all.

for me the biggest self-care is exercise. It helps me greatly to be able to leave my stress in sweat and it also helps me to stay fitter which is better in my line of work (surely I could still work with any body-image but not having extra weight makes me feel better when I work and my back doesn’t bother me as well, which is even more golden to me). My husband prefers a good movie as a self-care act, he says nothing makes him forget all the complex stuff he needs but some action movie.
