Monday evening…🎨

How did you spend your Monday evening? No, no, not your weekend, but your Monday evening…πŸ’œ

I am so happy I got to spend my Monday evening at a watercolor class🎨! Yes painting….lol …you may remember a few post ago I told you how horrible I am at painting…but I love it. I had so much fun sipping tea, laughing with my table mates and bring a horrible watercolor-er.

A lot of us, think of taking care of ourselves as spending a whole weekend pampering and self soothing ourselves;Β  it’s absolutely fantastic to be able to do that, but there’s seven days in a week…you don’t have to wait for a certain day or occasion to treat yourself good.

Bloom every single day. Enjoy every single yourself every day..

….and maybe one Monday evening you can grab a cup of tea, a paint brush and some friends andΒ  enjoy being horrible at watercolor with me!πŸ’œ

Shout out to Hesed House of Wharton,Β  Texas for hosting the watercolor class.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Keep BLOOMing 🌺

2020 Self-care goalsπŸ’œ

I don’t do the new year’s resolution thing, I’m more of a goal minded person. So as you read my goals for the year 2020, consider setting clear, obtainable goals for yourself. Make sure to include loving and taking care of yourself.

A few if my 2020 goals…

1. Pray more

2. Read more

3. Drink more water

4. Do more things I enjoy

5. Continue working towards my BCBA

…..these are just a few of my goals. What are some of your goals for the new year?Β  Feel free to share some with us in the comments.

I hope everyone has a wonderful new year. I encourage you to keep a positive mindset, love yourself and continue to BLOOM the whole way.

Change not chance.

I saw this quote and it ” hit the nail on the head”… It is the perfect way to say just that.Β  Nothing about you or your life changes if you don’t make some changes.

We can say we want to be happy, drink more water, or express more self love, but until you do different, you will not get different.

Just a little motivation from the bossLady!

Pay attention to your body.

I listened to a podcast a few days ago about how our bodies intertwine with our moods.Β  In one exercise, we were encouraged to demonstrate someone who feels sad.Β  As I sat in my desk, I lowered my shoulders, dropped my head and made a frown.Β  In my effort to model a sad person I even lowered my eyes and made myself small.Β  We were then asked to sit and be sad for a while.Β  Upon a few minuets, I actually started to feel sad.

After a little over 5 minutes, we were instructed to keep the sad feeling and stand up and do five jumping jacks.Β  He repeated to us listeners to “stay sad” as we jumped.Β  As I did my jumping jacks I tried to keep my humped over frame, lowered eyes and frown…but it was really hard to do.Β  My head was lifted and my eyes watched straight ahead, I didn’t feel the sadness of only a few seconds earlier.Β  It was difficult to feel sad and move my body in a faster pace.

He had basically proved his point and could have ended the podcast there.

I thought about that for a while.Β  How just the moving and position of my body had altered my mood and attitude.Β  I encourage anyone who may be feeling sluggish, sad or even just bored, to stand up and move, maybe jog in place, or do a few jumping jacks, put some happy music on and dance.Β  If you are able, maybe go for a walk outside.Β  Just move, breath and get your heart pumping.

Try the above exercise for yourself and tell bossLadyBLOOMS your experience with it in the comments below or on the FaceBook page.
